A mother's wish

In honor of Mothers' Day I'd like to pose a question...which household chore do you HATE to do? AND which household chore brings you satisfaction...

ME?

I HATE laundry- there's never any satisfaction...when the basket is empty; its only moments until someone throws in a sock or a towel and the pile begins again...
I LOVE to cook- it is fun to make a meal that people enjoy eating...

I guess I'm the opposite. I hate cooking. It takes so long for such a short satisfaction. Then as soon as you're done eating, you just have to clean it all up. Laundry I like. You're right - it is never ending. But, I love the smell of fresh clean laundry and I like sorting into little piles. Plus, it gives me an excuse to watch Dr. Phil and Oprah while I'm sorting... :)

I love to do laundry. There is something about an empty basket for me. You also don't even have to be home to get it done! I also really like to vacuum.
The problem with me is, I enjoy getting the house clean, but lose the satisfaction when the least little speck is seen on the floor. Or the bathroom is spotless, and now there is toothpaste in the sink! I clean the wood floors and somebody walks in with their shoes!

I wasn't finished! I don't get crazed about it, but I start to think, why bother. It'll be dirty again in a day. Then I see a show like Oprah's, and think, hey I am not THAT bad. I don't want to live in filth! I never put cleaning my house before helping or being with someone, it will get done. Relationships are more important.

I HATE cleaning the bathroom. But I do it, because I like a clean bathroom.

I kind of like laundry for the same reason Lori does... it goes along with watching TV.

I don't know that there is ANY cleaning chore that I love to do. I like to have a clean kitchen, so I guess the satisfaction of getting all the dishes out of the sink is a good high.

I despise laundry, it never ends. I like cooking as long as the recipe isn't new and I know what I am doing. Cleaning is my thing. I take such satisfaction in cleaning my house and knowing you could eat off my floors.

I HATE dusting. We have new carpet in our apt. and the dust seems to be never-ending!

I honestly don't know if there is any chore that I love, but I don't mind doing the laundry so I guess that qualifies, well sort of. :)

I loved it when I lived with you Noelle, you cooked and I cleaned and did the laundry. That was a wonderful 3 months!

I am a complete freak about cleaning. In fact, my husband has to ask me to stop cleaning and come and sit down with him for a while. I have gotten better. I don't usually clean (except laundry and cleaning up after myself) during the week. I try to do everything on Saturday morning while Wes is at a class.

Jeanette, I'm striving to be like you! I'm getting better though!

I HATE cleaning bathtubs and showers. I think it's because that is the one chore I had to do EVERY SINGLE Sat. as a kid. YUCK! Or maybe it's just because it takes too much time and detail.
I also hate moping. The fact that I have to fill the bucket with water and then empty it, it just takes too long and I want it done. I do like vacuuming though and cleaning mirrors and glass.
Cooking is great too when I have the time.
