metromom

A collection of daily thoughts, ideas and links from a mom still seeking to acheive the "balance" of a spiritual journey, family, inner peace, carreer, world peace...while "trying" to look like a supermodel at the same time...

Those eyes could be the death of me...

Don't be fooled by this face...This boy is trouble! I never really understood the difference between having a girl and boy...you know the whole sugar and spice and snails and puppy dog tails, but am I ever getting schooled. Just a list for you of the things Ty has tried in the last few weeks:

- Eating a roach (that was bad karma on my part...long story.)
- Eating paper, plastic, crayons, foam, fabric... basically anything he can get his grubby hands on.
-Eating toilet paper from a four year old's pee filled toilet
- Attempting to stick a key in a light socket (learning to remove the safety covers from light sockets.)
- Taking off a dirty diaper in his bed and smearing the remnants around for all to see and ME to clean

The list could go on but I'll let you really stew on the above crimes...then, please bow your heads and pray for me and all the other moms with boys.

HA - Boys are awesome. I'd much rather deal with cockroach hours devours and poopy diapers on walls than the emotions of little girls. Just wait until he's old enough to start picking on his older sister.

But, perhaps my wife will have something different to add later.

Yep, boys are fun. My boys have done those things as well. But I have to say it's not just boys. My girls have also taken their diapers off and smeared it everywhere. That's when we decided to potty train them. Also, might I add, there was a time when J was home with the kids and i just went for an errand and got a call from him saying that he had to call the poison control center. Why?, I asked. Oh because R just ate D's feces. yuck! And the thing is we think she liked it. Of course she was a baby at the time and probably would not do it now.
Anyways, so its not just boys. They still are more gross. lol C now gets a kick out of passing gas silently and then smiling when you finally smell it. ewww! boys!

I love those blue eyes! Martin and I have always said that we just want boys... maybe we should seek the Holy Spirit's direction further. :)

You have a sweet, smart, lovable little guy. You know you wouldn't trade ole blue eyes for another clean and prissy girl.

I so feel your pain. My boys have tried everything on that list and then some. The poop smeared everywhere was my favorite when Jack was little. NOT!!!! I will be praying you stay sane. I was doing fine until we entered puberty. Just hang on it gets even better.

He surely reminds me of my son when he was your son's age.

Lovely eyes with 'lovely' amazing things he could do.

You've got my prayer, Metromom!

:D

Ahhh, little boys and little girls. Both of mine, a boy and a girl, have smeared poop everywhere.

However, my daughter was the one who learned to remove the light socket covers. She was also the one who drew her first picture on the wall in permanent marker the day after we bought our first house. She climbed on the stove and was trying to work the microwave before she could even walk.

But, it was my son that decided to jumb from the top of the couch onto the floor and landed with the corner of his head on the coffee table. Our date night plans quickly changed due to the bleeding head wound and evening in the ER. We no longer have a coffee table, but we do have a trampoline.

They each have their own particular, calculated ways of driving us crazy. Children are such joy!

Thanks for this post. I read it to my sister...the mother of a one year old who recently said she didn't know if she could handle anything more than this one child. It made her laugh and comforted her to know other mothers have the same struggles!

Welcome to the world of "Moms of Boys" Noelle!! I have enjoyed having 2 boys! You will definitely have memories to last forever. I distinctly remember being the car with Matt and the boys and hearing Tyler ask how you make funny "tooting" noises with your arm pit! I thought I would die and had heard it all, until I heard Matt say he would teach them later!!
