metromom

A collection of daily thoughts, ideas and links from a mom still seeking to acheive the "balance" of a spiritual journey, family, inner peace, carreer, world peace...while "trying" to look like a supermodel at the same time...

I'm well aware..

that I haven't posted anything worth reading in weeks, okay maybe months. Let's just say, there are days that working 9-5 seems like the easy way out. Balancing the church stuff, the award winning mother stuff, the health things...all takes its toll. And its surprisingly more difficult when two things are in place:
1. there is no minute by minute schedule (though I'm working on sticking to a daily routine.)
2. things take 2 times as long when two childrend are in tow

I made time the last two days to begin reading, "Today Matters" by John Maxwell and it is such a simple yet challenging book. I am really enjoying the read- quite inspiring. There are so many fabulous quotes in it, but one I've always loved is by Walt Emerson:

What lies behind us and what lies before us are tiny matters compared to what lies within us.

Too often we blame the past or our current circumstances and fail to take the power that God has given us to achieve what we're meant to achieve.

That's as deep as you're getting today. Hopefully you will think about it though. Don't overlook what you have inside of you. Apparently I have NO hobbies according to certain friends and I've been coerced into purchasing roller blades...pray for me tonight. I've never done it before. Sad, I know. (Maybe I do need to get a life...)
