It's Raining Babies
Ok, so I was beginning to think you guys left me hanging...a girl cries out for help in her time of need and the only response is from the resident smart... er...aleck. Then today the morning after...all of your helpful tips came through! Thanks. As my dad would say, "You're a day late and a dollar short."
Other things my dad says: "Use your head for something other than a hat rack." and "Your full of )&*@#$) as a Christmas Goose" and "If I want any advice out of you, I'll slap it out of you." (all of these said in jest of course) Other wit and wisdom from my father willl surface in later posts I am sure!
In all seriousness the shower that took place last night went relatively well. The best part is that the mom-to-be was very blessed. They truly were showered with gifts and it was great. If I had to pick someone who really deserved to feel loved like that, it would be her. On a side note...that makes me smile...I ordered the cake over the phone and I was fairly confident in the man who was on the other end of the line to carry out my specific instructions. However, it was apparent that he was an ESL baker. (English as a second language.) I told him I wanted, "Welcome Baby Rya" written on the cake. (He suggested congratulations...but I didn't want that) I spelled out RYA three times to be sure he got it, and evidently he did. But when I finally took the cake out of the box, I realized I should have clarified the other words as well. Who knew that he'd spell B-A-B-Y as B-A-B-I... "Welcome Babi Rya" (should've gone with congratulations...)
